Building the New Anilpuram: Progress at the Prefab Facility

From moulds to homes, building the foundations of a new Anilpuram

The transformation of Anilpuram is taking shape, one carefully manufactured concrete block at a time.

At the Anilpuram Prefab Facility, dedicated teams are working on the production of specialised precast concrete moulds that will play an important role in the construction of the new Anilpuram. The facility has been set up to enable faster, more consistent, and efficient construction while maintaining the strength and quality required for long-lasting structures.

Currently, five different types of moulds are being produced, each designed for a specific purpose in the new development.

Five Moulds, One Vision

Every mould has a role to play in bringing the new Anilpuram to life.

A & B Blocks — Building the Basement

The A and B blocks are designed for use in the basement structures. These blocks form an important part of the lower-level construction and provide the necessary structural support for the buildings above.

C Blocks — Supporting Bridge Construction

The C blocks have a different purpose. They are being manufactured specifically for bridge construction, contributing to the infrastructure that will connect different parts of the new Anilpuram.

The production of these specialised blocks at the prefab facility allows the construction process to be planned and executed with greater precision.

L & T Blocks — Creating the Homes

The L and T blocks are at the heart of the residential construction.

These blocks have been designed to work together to create the walls and corners of the residences. At the corners of a residence, L blocks are used to form the corners, while two T blocks are placed between two L blocks to build the adjoining sections of the structure.

This modular approach allows multiple components to be manufactured systematically at the prefab facility and then assembled at the construction site.

Progress Taking Shape

The work at the prefab facility is already translating into tangible progress on the ground.

As of today, blocks required for 15 residences are ready.

This milestone represents more than just a number. Each completed set of blocks brings another family home closer to reality and demonstrates the steady progress being made toward the construction of the new Anilpuram.

The journey from designing a mould to producing a finished block may happen within the walls of the prefab facility, but its impact extends much further. These components will eventually become basements, bridges, walls, corners, and ultimately homes.

The Anilpuram Prefab Facility is becoming an important part of the larger vision for the new Anilpuram — combining planning, engineering, skilled workmanship, and efficient construction methods to create a stronger and more sustainable community.

With five specialised moulds, production progressing steadily, and blocks already ready for 15 residences, the vision is moving from plans and drawings into something that can be seen and touched.

Every block produced is a step forward.

And, block by block, residence by residence, the new Anilpuram is taking shape.
